Working from home is my favorite life hack. I love it because it saves me money. I don’t need that many clothes, makeup, or gas for my car. But let’s be honest — working from home can be a bit challenging too.
When I first started, I was working in my pajamas and slippers. It felt cozy, but it wasn’t very productive. I have a lot on my plate every day — journaling, writing, coding, and moving my body — so I needed a better system. That’s why I created a morning routine.
I know, I know — there are a million articles about morning routines out there. But mine is pretty simple and doesn’t require any fancy stuff. So here it is:

1. I wake up at the same time every day
I try to balance my hormones, so I wake up at 7:15 every morning — even on weekends. It helps me so much that I almost don’t need an alarm anymore. I usually go to bed at 11:00 p.m., and I believe that consistency makes a big difference.
Once I get up, I spend about 10 minutes on basic hygiene — brushing my teeth, cleaning my face. I take a shower later, usually after a run. Then I change into fresh loungewear, because — let’s be honest — nobody wants to stink all day.
2. Coffee — because I absolutely love it
I’ve been drinking coffee since university. Back then, we lived in a tiny flat with an old sofa and smelly carpet. One day I bought a cheap coffee machine, and I fell in love with the smell of fresh coffee.
Now I can’t imagine starting my day without it. These days, I use a Nespresso Gran Lattissima machine, and I’m a little obsessed with trying different flavors. If you’re a coffee lover too, here are my current favorites:
- Pistachio Vanilla Flavour Over Ice – a delicious new addition, perfect for warm mornings
- Nocciola – smooth hazelnut flavor, great with a bit of oat milk
- Caramello – rich and sweet, like a tiny dessert in a cup
- Cioccolatino – because sometimes you want a hint of chocolate
- Stockholm Lungo – balanced and elegant, a classic go-to
- Shanghai Lungo – floral, light, and surprisingly refreshing
I usually sip my coffee while journaling in my five-year diary. It’s my small daily ritual that brings me peace and a bit of joy.

3. Yoga — because my back hurts
I started doing yoga regularly two months ago because my back was seriously unhappy. No wonder — I was using a tiny IKEA console as a desk, and my posture was a disaster.
Now I do 10 to 15 minutes of yoga each morning, and it really helps. It’s short, simple, and makes my body feel better.
4. Breakfast & Cleaning
After yoga, I prepare a healthy breakfast — usually a banana smoothie or white yogurt with granola and fruit. I try to keep my blood sugar balanced, and this kind of breakfast works well for me.
Then I make my bed (because working in a messy space is not it) and turn on the robotic vacuum cleaner. His name is Herbert. He’s a Roborock and, I swear, he has a grumpy personality.
Conclusion
Why a morning routine? Because my brain needs a fresh start every day. These simple steps help me feel better in my body and mind. I’ve tried different morning routines before, but this one works best for me — and I actually love it.
