Last week, I caught the flu. I felt awful, and for a week and a half, I was stuck in bed. I had plans, but they got canceled—so now I have a to-do list longer than a CVS receipt. No big deal.
On a brighter note, January has come to an end, marking the first month of my battle against obesity. As a software engineer, I sit most of the day, which hasn’t exactly helped my weight. I am obese. My goal? Lose 24 kilograms. January was just the beginning, and I thought it would be fun (and hopefully useful) to document my progress.

How I Changed My Daily Routine to Lose 24 Kilograms
- Meal Planning & Calorie Counting – I use My Net Diary to track my food intake.
- Daily Steps – I aim for 7,000 steps every day.
- Consistent Workouts – I have a structured exercise plan and stick to it.
- No Ultra-Processed Foods (UPF) – Goodbye, junk food.
- Hydration – I drink 2 liters of water daily.
My Workout Routine
- Monday: 30-minute workout
- Tuesday: 25-minute run + 30-minute workout
- Wednesday: 25-minute run + 30-minute workout
- Thursday: 25-minute run + 30-minute workout
- Friday: 25-minute run
- Saturday: Relaxation & walking
- Sunday: Cleaning (hey, it burns calories!)
I’m really happy with this routine. It gives me enough time to recover, and I feel fresh. Every day, I consume between 1,800–2,000 kcal, focusing on fresh vegetables, fruits, meat, kefir, and high-quality dairy products. The best part? I actually love this way of eating—I feel amazing and never hungry.

The Results: January Progress
At the end of January, I stepped on the scale and saw a loss of 4.1 kilograms! I couldn’t be happier—I’m on the right track. There’s still a long way to go, but I believe I can kick obesity to the curb and regain my health. From my goal of losing 24 kilograms, I now have 19.9 kilograms to go.
